Custom Order: Cable Management Clip

The Requirement

A customer contacted us needing a custom cable management clip to organise wiring along a frame where standard clips didn’t fit correctly.

The clip needed to:

  • Fit a specific profile

  • Hold multiple cables securely

  • Be strong enough for regular handling

  • Remain neat and low-profile

Off-the-shelf solutions weren’t suitable due to size and fit constraints.

File Review & Material Selection

The customer supplied a basic part file, which we reviewed and adjusted for print reliability and strength.

Because the clip would be flexed during installation and use, PETG was recommended over PLA for its improved toughness and durability while keeping costs reasonable.

Production Process

The part was printed in-house using PETG with controlled settings to ensure:

  • Clean surface finish

  • Consistent clip strength

  • Accurate dimensions

Print orientation was chosen to maximise strength at the clip points while maintaining a clean appearance.

Result

The finished cable management clip fit correctly and securely held the cables in place.
The customer received a functional, custom solution without needing to modify existing equipment or compromise on appearance.
